Let’s do a puzzle

Pilot is doing so well with puzzles.  He puts his 25 piece puzzles together so quickly, it’s amazing.  He does pretty well with a 46 piece floor puzzle.  So today we got him two 60 piece puzzles (for 4+.  Not floor puzzles – due to a little brother who takes them apart).  One is of the ABC’s and the other is of chocolate.  Yum to the chocolate.  He’s really excited to give them a try.  By the time we got home after getting them, it was bedtime, so first thing tomorrow we’re diving into one of those boxes.  :)  I’ll let you know how it goes…

Aprons!

I made these aprons for the boys.  I thought it would be fun for them to have these while they are either helping in the kitchen or doing some crafts.

My model (a.k.a. Pilot) wouldn’t put it on for a picture, but I’ll get one later.  :)  They have pockets and everything!  They’re too cute, if I do say so myself.

Here they are!  Too fun!

A Bus!

You’ve got to love boys.  Anytime we’re out and about running errands or something, Pilot can find a bus, a dump truck, or a trash truck miles away.   He counts how many he’s seen too.  “We need to find one more bus.  Then it will be 5.”  So here I am driving around town hunting down another bus.  “Can we see a fire truck?”  he might ask, and I’ll say “lets look for one.”  We may or may not see one during our day, but at least we looked, right?  :)

Also, walking into a store…something so simple, right?  He’ll either skip all the way in (holding my hand), or jump over squares or cracks all the way in.  And when we get inside, he feels that EVERY store needs to carry those car carts.  I can go into a bookstore and he’ll tell me we need to find a car cart.  I tell him they don’t have those at this store and he will just want to look…just to make sure.  I mean, maybe they’ve recently decided to provide those in our bookstores near by…you can never be too sure.  So, we look…just in case.  :)

Oh, and we also have one of those special bread cutters (for sandwiches) in the shape of a dinosaur.  It cuts two dinosaurs in one sandwich.  You could also use a cookie cutter.  Anyway, he will now only take his peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the dinosaur shape.  I’ve tried a bear cookie cutter or an airplane one, but no…it needs to be a dinosaur.  So, why not?  A dinosaur it is.  When I give him his two dinosaurs, what does he do?  Well, before he eats them, he has the dinosaurs growl at each other.   It’s really quite funny.

Letter Factory

We got Leap Frog’s Letter Factory DVD from the library and it was so cute.  I would recommend checking it out.  Pilot comes to me throughout the day saying, “the P says, pa, like popcorn.”  It’s funny.

Thursday’s Tip – For Guests!

This is just for fun.  I have a 3-ring binder for guests to look through when they stay with me about my area (state/city).  I typed everything on the computer and after printing that off, I have them in clear protective pages that go in a 3-ring binder.  :)

Here are some of the tabs that I have:

- Fun Facts: about the state/city.

- Useful tips for your stay: just a fun list of things to read.  For example: we recycle, so we have two trash cans.  One is for trash and the other is recycle.  So one of my tips is for them to “think before you toss.”

- Guest book:  These pages I decorated like a scrapbook.  Then I put pictures of the people who have visited us.

- Brochures: I got brochures of different areas in the state and of touristy places.

Have any other ideas to add to the binder?  Let me know!  :)

Big Truck Day!

We went to see Big Trucks.  The boys had so much fun!  I haven’t been before, so I didn’t know what to expect.  But you name it, they had the big truck.  ;)  Four different fire trucks, a trash truck, a concrete mixer, a moving truck, a tow truck, and much much more!  Here are only a few pictures of our day.  :)
